A White Tiger Guild manager named Ahn Sangmin makes a more aggressive pitch to recruit Jin-woo, offering a premium contract. Jin-woo turns him down again, making it clear he has no interest in joining any guild. Internally, Jin-woo recognises that his goals are completely different from what any guild could offer him. The chapter also shows Jin-woo experimenting with his shadow soldiers in private, learning the mechanics of summoning, maintaining, and commanding them in combat.
